Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park

Overview

Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park lies off Cozumel, in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Its reefs belong to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second largest coral reef system in the world, though the park holds only the reefs along the island’s southern side. It begins just south of the International Pier, runs around Punta Sur, reaches a short way up the east coast, and contains shallow and mesophotic coral reefs down to the 100 m depth isobar.
